WHAT THE MISSIONARIES SAY

2.png

KATRINA, LONDON

While completing my bachelors degree in Dublin, I struggled to maintain a healthy and Christ-centred life. God was trying to work within me but I wasn't always very receptive to his much needed help. As I made various lifestyle changes and opened myself up to his healing hand, I began to see Christ's goodness and light. He has been healing my heart and has broken down all of the walls that I built around me. Upon the completion of my degree, God called me to do a mission year in London so that I could serve him through serving his people.

GEORGE, BEIRUT

I vividly remember the first time I stepped in at a prayer meeting. It was cold. I was wearing a hundred and one layers of clothes - so was everyone else. I remember being greeted and loved like never before. Beneath all the layers, I saw a radiant light in peoples' faces that intrigued me and made me curious to discover the truth of Christ. A few years later, I decided to engage in service and mission to share the joy and fullness I am living in Christ with everyone around.

KARINA, VIENNA

Mission for me is a decision for giving back. For many years now I feel so called to Mission and spending my time investing in God´s people. God is constantly blessing me and my family and one of the things I can do is give back to him. I am not going on mission because I feel obligated to do so. No! I am serving God´s Kingdom to bring more of his light into the world, to bring more of his love into the world and for showing people that living for God is eternal. It is the one thing that will always be there and the one who is always listening. Being on Mission is a deep calling that I am feeling every day and I pray that I am always open for God to use me.

DANIEL, BELFAST

Mission to me is sharing the abundant life God has given me. Growing up in Vienna and being part of Stilco, a vibrant group of Christian students and young professionals, I received such a huge portion of blessing that the only appropriate response was to let it overflow and to spread it. Coming to work with UCO Belfast has given me an opportunity to open up more of my life and invite people into a life with God, households, community, and purpose. Doing mission involves great relationships with people I wouldn't otherwise have met.
