Vision

Kairos exists for young people - students and young graduates - to help them discover the call of God on their lives and to provide mission and training environments where they can respond to the challenge of that call.

Throughout Europe and the Middle East, over 300 young people and student aged people identify with Kairos, worldwide there are over 3,000.

They are involved in various ways. Many are active in a local university group, some are participating in a Kairos mission trip to Africa or elsewhere, a few are planning a GAP year of service and training in another country.

All are connected to the wider Kairos community. All of them are coming to a fuller understanding of God’s call on their life. All of them are seeking the kind of character that will enable them to make a contribution in our world.

Values

Christ
Our roots and our values are Christian and we believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers a vital message for today's world.

Call
We believe that God has a purpose for each of our lives and that he is a God who has not only created us but continues, through the action and gifts of his Holy Spirit, to act in our lives and in the world today.

Contribution
Each of us has a contribution to make. We want to encourage young people to discover their gifts and radically give themselves in service and mission to the world around them.

Community
Being connected to Christ means being connected to a body of believers. To that end we believe in committed Christian communities which provide both a place for mission and a place for personal growth. Our Kairos groups seek to model this.

Church
We are fully committed to the work of Christian unity. We recognise the moral unity that we share across traditions and we respect the differences within today's church. We encourage the people associated with Kairos to be active in their local church and to strive to work towards a greater unity recognising that this is God's will.
